RIP Keith Alexander

3 Mar

Just read the sad news about Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander who has died aged just 53.
I remember him mainly as manager of Lincoln City in the early part of the decade, where he took them to four successive League Two play-offs.
I will always remember our famous 4-3 win at Lincoln when Lee Steele scored a hat-trick, but Alexander was pioneering as the only black maanger in the football league at the time and achieved a lot at Lincoln before having health problems in the form of a brain tumour.
Latest I’ve read is he collapsed late last night after arrving home from the game against Notts County, no further information yet on the cause.
The England team will wear armbands in honour for him tonight at Wembley v Egypt.
RIP
