Norwich, Andrew Whing and Harry Kane: Leyton Orient News Network

7 Jan

Just heard on twitter c/o @orientmeatpie Andrew Whing has signed from Brighton till the end of the season. Shame he wasn’t available to play the other day against his old employers. Might have kept the score down…

Harry Kane has signed from Tottenham on loan (where else) until the end of the season. From the spurs

The England Under-19 international played 22 times for our Under-18 side last season, scoring 18 goals, with his form earning him a place on the First Team bench on two occasions during the campaign and he was rewarded his first professional contract at the Club in July, 2010″

Tickets available for Norwich game…

Russel Slade has described the game as a real challenge in this match preview .

Tyrrel Forbes returns from suspension for the tie.

Paul Lambert has dismissed reports linking him with the Burnley job after they sacked Brian Laws(??). He hinted at team changes in his press conference, good news for the O’s… Even if he has denied the Burnley gossip, hopefully it will have unsettled the ‘mood in the cmap’. Thanks to Burnley, they’ve owed us one since 1986..

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum = Translate as "No internet no optimism"

This story caught my eye recently on twitter, but sadly it turned out to be a throwaway remark gone wrong!!

Apparently someone on an Everton message board got the wrong end of the stick, took it seriously and thought it bizarre that a small team like Leyton orient could turn down an £8 million fee for a player. We should be so lucky.

My thanks to for the report below.

Afterthought… How many flats can you build for £8 million?

Two in, One out for Orient ahead of Huddersfield game

10 Sep

James Walker is back!!
He was last seen in an Orient shirt scoring the final goal in stoppage time of the amazing 5-2 at Millwall, and last seen at Brisbane Road scoring in stoppage time of while Kevin Nugent was caretaker manager (inbetween Ling and Geraint Williams).

Andy Frampton has come in from Millwall on loan to solve the left back problem, while Adrian Patulea has gone out on loan to Hayes & Yeading… (found his level?)
If Walker comes on as sub tomorrow, I’d recommend not leaving early to beat the traffic…

With Ryan Jarvis, the hat-trick hero of that Tuesday night 5-2 win at Millwall also back at Orient for his second spell, we only need to re-sign Gary Alexander (who left Millwall to join Brentford at the start of the season) to reunite all the goalscorers of that incredible night…

6 Apr

Russel Slade has been appointed new manager at Leyton Orient, two days after the O’s ‘parted company’ with Geraint Williams.
Slade was in attendance as the O’s slipped to their fourth defeat in a row by, 2-1 at Southampton, despite taking the lead in the 1st minute through loanee John Spicer. Kevin Nugent was caretaker manager for the game.

Slade was previously manager at Grimsby, Notts County, Yeovil and Brighton, where last season he helped the seagulls avoid relegation.
