10 more Cup Finals for Orient…

12 Mar

March 14: Stockport (a) 8th in league table
March 21: Walsall (h) 13th
March 28: Oldham (h) 6th
Apr 4: Cheltenham (a) 24th bottom
Apr 7: Leeds (h) 5th

Apr 11: Colchester (h) 10th

Apr 13: Swindon (a) 21st

Apr 18: Northampton (h) 18th

Apr 25: Millwall (a) 6th

May 2: Huddersfield (h) 12th

Currently on 39 points. 15 more should be enough?

6 homes games left, but our home form over the season means that doesn’t really count for much. It has improved more recently, two home wins under Williams compared to two under Ling.

Looking at other teams league positions, we will probably struggle to beat Leeds, Millwall, Oldham and Stockport, two away and two home.

The mid table opponents we will face are Huddersfield, Colchester and Walsall ALL AT HOME.

And we face three teams currently below us, Northampton, Swindon and Cheltenham. Again, two of these are home and the trip on April 4th to rock bottom Cheltenham will be a huge must win game for us. Cheltenham themselves look doomed and have big financial problems, and they beat us at Brisbane Road, so if we want to stay in this division we must win at Whaddon Road…

So here goes:

Stockport (L)

Walsall (WIN)

Oldham (draw)

Cheltenham (WIN)

Leeds (l)

Colchester (WIN)

Swindon (draw)

Northampton (WIN)

Millwall (l)

Huddersfield (WIN)

5 wins and 2 draws = 17 points

This is more of a wish list than a prediction! We all know anything can happen with Orient, and 5 wins in 10 is optimistic.

More likely 4 wins and 3 draws for 15 points??
