So sadly for Lingy, after five years at the helm, his stewardship of Leyton Orient came crashing to an end with 3 home defeats (four if you include the FA Cup tie with Sheffield United)
The game which sealed his fate was the 2-1 reverse to Bristol Rovers, having led 1-0 with 16 minutes to go.
Nooge almost started his caretaker reign with a much needed win over local rivals Southend but a 96th minute equalizer from ex Orient loanee James Walker broke Orients hearts.
Geraint Williams (the first manager of the club since Pat Holland to have not pulled on the shirt as player) started with a solid 0-0 up at Tranmere, and got his first win on the board a week later aginst Crewe, the first home win since November 1st! Another 1-0 win, this time away at Hartlepool followed before two narrow defeats to Hereford and high flying Peterbrough.
An 88th minute strike by Sean Thornton gave the O’s a crucial win over relegation rivals Brighton on saturday and in confident mood for the longest away trip of the season, to 16th place Carlisle.
